I have to say that the initial order of onion rings was excellent. His wife & kids had burgers & grilled cheese (more Jo-Jo's).

It was a decent club, but Neptune seemed to have stayed in the sea! Her sons fish & oysters was as overcooked as mine. The Neptune Club has been superb in the past & this time seemed to be devoid of anything resembling crab or shrimp.

My wife got Jo-Jo's with her Neptune Club (she wasn't happy either). Jo-Jo's are served in gas stations & bars, they are not generally served with a decent lunch or dinner. The fish was overcooked & I got Jo-Jo's instead of chips (fries). The gentleman bartender came in just before we left & he took our money. The service was not great nor was the food. Also, in the past a woman named Joy was the cook & she is also excellent. We have generally been waited on by a man who is also the bartender & possibly the manager. No this isn't a comedy act, it was a real conversation. Do you think that if we are there at 2pm that you will probably be open?" - "Yes" - "Wonderful, thank you & Merry Christmas!". UUUHHHH, 7, no 8, no 7" - "so you are open from 2 to 7, you think?" - "no, maybe it's 7, or 8, to 7" - "Great. UUUUHHHHH, 2" - "Great! You think you open at 2?" - "yes!" - "and when do you close?" - "UUUUHHHH, I don't know, just a minute. yes, we will be open" - "What are your hours?" - "UUUUHHHHH, I don't know" - great, what do you know? (I didn't say that) "could you please find out? We live 4 hours away & I need to know" - "UUUHHHHHH, we open at 3!" - "3? are you sure?" - "just a minute. My first thought is "then why do they let this person answer the phone?" "Could you find out, please?" - "Yeah, sure. "Dock!" - "Is this the Dock of the Bay Restaurant?" - "Yes" - "Are you going to be open Sunday?" - "UUUUUHHHH, I don't know!" - this is always a bad sign. We wanted to have a small family dinner there the Sunday before Christmas so I called on Friday to make sure they would be open. Because of the density of foliage, The Dock on the Bay is home to many varieties of birds, and giant manatees and their babies are often seen in the yacht basin.I have eaten here for years & never had a poor meal until this week. Fishing is close at hand, either in Buttonwood Harbor, Sarasota Bay, or the Gulf. Two tennis courts, two pools and a separate spa provide uncrowded relaxation, in addition to beach access right across the street! There is free internet access for all guests, and a kayak launch platform too. There is a small marina with up to 7ft depth and accommodations for boats up to 45 ft. This intimate private resort emphasizes harmony with the natural tropical environment, with lush native vegetation and a serene view of mangrove-lined Buttonwood Harbor. impossible to forget!” The Dock on the Bay is located on Longboat Key, just offshore from Sarasota on the Central West Coast of Florida.
